Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller Complete: Is this the new mop champion for your home?

Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller Complete: Is this the new mop champion for your home?

Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller Complete has been in intensive use for just over two months now. My goal was to look beyond the first impression and find out whether this high-end robot justifies its place in a modern home. Right from the receipt of the almost 26-kilogram package, it's clear: heavy artillery is being deployed against dirt. What immediately stands out is the extensive equipment. From special solutions against pet odors to an elaborate cleaning tool, everything you need to start is included. The robot replaces our Dreame W10, which has been in continuous use in our office since the end of 2021 and still works flawlessly.

In this post you will learn how the device performs in a complex environment with carpets, tiles and pets and whether the innovative mopping roller really makes a difference.

Unboxing and setup: The all-in-one station as a cleaning hub

When you set up the powerful base station (dimensions: W 42 cm x H 51 cm x D 45 cm), you should plan for some space. But the room pays off, because the station handles almost everything for you: it cleans the mop roller, fills the water tank, empties the dust, and even doses the cleaning agent automatically. Especially cleverly designed is the dispenser with two compartments: one for normal cleaner and one specifically against pet odors 🐶.

We deliberately chose the Ultra Roller Complete, as it is claimed to deliver the higher suction power.

The initial setup via the app is exemplary. After scanning the QR code, the software safely guides you through the process. The setup is quickly completed using the 'Fast Mapping' feature: the robot moves almost silently through your rooms, scans obstacles, and creates a precise map in record time—whether it's a single story or across multiple floors. The automatic room recognition performed so well in my test that I hardly had to make manual adjustments. Even sofas and dining tables were correctly identified.

A technical detail that will delight you is the retractable LiDAR tower. Normally the robot is 12 cm tall, but it can retract the tower and shrink to 9.7 cm to navigate under low furniture. This is a real solution for navigating under low sofas or dressers.

Hands-on test and AI features: When the robot makes the wiping roller glow

Let's get to the core: the cleaning performance! Here, the Dreame Aqua10 shows its strengths especially when mopping. Unlike conventional pads, this model uses an active mop roller. The result on tiles is remarkably good. The roller is supposed to apply constant pressure and cleans almost to the edge, as it can be extended to the side. And the robot does this in sensible places as well. In the docking station, this roller is cleaned with hot water and dried again.

When vacuuming, the robot is powerful but audible. With up to 70 dBA in max mode, it's not a quiet device, but it delivers plenty of power. The carpet detection usually works reliably: the robot lifts the mop roller or covers it with a cover so your carpet stays dry. In normal everyday operation the Aqua10 is, however, significantly quieter than our previous Dreame W10. When driving without suction, it's almost silent.

Especially exciting for families with pets or children is the AI camera. The object recognition identifies shoes, cables or even pets and navigates around them cleverly. Through the app you can even access the camera live to check on things or, thanks to pet mode, look for the dog.

After several years of mop-and-suction robots, I can also say about the Aqua10: such a device significantly reduces cleaning effort and provides a lot of utility with moderate maintenance. Replacement parts, such as dust bags or brushes, are available from Dreame or Amazon. The software from Dreame works well. I find many ideas truly well done, such as the recognition of where the robot has not cleaned for a while.

One more note on data privacy: The robot offers via the app the possibility to move freely around the rooms by remote control, and at the same time to send a video stream to the app. Please consider that the robot can also become a little spy. If you are not comfortable with this, you can completely switch off the robot when it is not needed.

A good robot also needs a good app!

For us, the Dreame app has always worked quite well. The translations may be a bit odd in places, but the core functions always work great for us.

Dreame doesn't skimp on smart software: The robot can recognize where another, even more thorough cleaning is necessary. If a person or animal is in the way, the robot will return to the spot again at the end of the cleaning. That's an idea you have to come up with yourself.

In daily use, we often use the app to start cleaning for individual rooms. That always works flawlessly and reliably. Additionally, the app is useful so that the robot can send notifications via push notifications. For example, that the dirty water needs to be emptied.

Our conclusion: Our new Wisch-Profi

The Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller Complete is innovative. The mopping performance is, in my opinion, superior to most competitors thanks to the special roller and the hot-water cleaning of the station. Here you get a device that takes a lot of work off your daily life, especially if you value hygiene and comfort. I bought the Dreame W10 back then, because it was the first mop with rotating mop heads. This time it is the roller that again provides added value and makes everything else look old.

Nevertheless, the device is not entirely without criticisms. In addition, the internal dust bin in the robot is somewhat awkwardly designed. The dust bin becomes clogged because of the small openings and cannot be fully vacuumed. In that case I do not receive an error message or anything similar, and I have to check manually from time to time.

To sum up: For us, the robot with the roller is definitely a successful upgrade and offers a clear added value in everyday life. The price has already fallen, making the device an even better deal.

The pros and cons at a glance:

What impressed us:

✅ Excellent mopping performance: The active mopping roller also removes dried-on stains better than classic pads.
✅ Hygienic station: Cleaning the roller with up to 100°C hot water and subsequent drying.
✅ Climbing ability: Thanks to a special mechanism, it overcomes high door thresholds (up to about 4 cm on double steps).
✅ Smart navigation: The retractable LiDAR tower enables travel under low furniture.
✅ Comprehensive app features: From pet monitoring to detailed zone settings.
✅ Automatic dosing system: Two tanks for cleaner and odor remover.

This could be even better:

➡️ Dust container: The internal container is small and tends to clog when there's a lot of dust; the suction frequency is sometimes too low.
➡️ Software: Occasional problems with carpet edge detection and illogical menu items.
➡️ Battery management: The battery drains very quickly, and charging occurs in many small steps.
➡️ Large footprint: The station is very bulky and requires a lot of space.
