Templates

A template stores a block with its children, or a whole document, for reuse. All template actions need the renick.content.manage_templates permission (Manage content templates).

Saving a template

Use Save block as template in a block's ⋮ menu in the structure tree (a Section includes everything inside it), or Save as template in the toolbar for the whole document. The editor asks for a name.

Inserting a template

Open Add block and switch to the Templates tab. The list reloads each time, so templates colleagues just saved are there. The blocks are added at the end of the document with fresh ids, so every insert is an independent copy.

Managing templates

Settings → Content → Templates lists all templates; New template creates one. A template has a name, an optional description and its blocks, edited in the block editor.

Multisite

Templates are shared across all sites, so adjust site-specific wording after inserting. See Multisite.
