Export

Export in the editor toolbar downloads the document as it stands in the editor, unsaved edits included. The file is named <slug>-YYYY-MM-DD-HH-MM-SS.json (UTC), with the slug taken from the record's title or name, else content-document.

Import

Import replaces the editor content with a document JSON file. A file that is not valid JSON or has no blocks array is refused, and your content stays unchanged. Nothing is written until you save the form. To move single blocks, copy and paste them instead.

Media bundles (ZIP)

The JSON only references media. A bundle is a ZIP with document.json, manifest.json and every referenced media file, created and restored with the CLI or the REST API. On import:

• The document is validated and saved as an import version before any media file is written.
• Existing media files are kept unless --overwrite-media is set.
• Site references are mapped by site code; shared content pieces are reused by name or created.
• The CLI asks for confirmation (--force skips it); --dry-run previews without writing.
