Default Blocks

Renick.Content ships 31 core blocks plus Shared Content and Entry List. The Mall and Submission Form blocks appear only while their integration is available and switched on; otherwise they render nothing. Edit fields in the inspector; the block reference lists every field. Themes can override any block's markup in partials/renick-content/<handle>.htm.

Text

Heading

A single h1–h6 heading.

Rich Text

Formatted text, edited with the compact Formatted text editor or October's full Rich text editor. The class panel suggests the Markup Classes from October's Settings → Editor Settings. The HTML is rendered unsanitized, so only trusted editors and API tokens should write it.

Quote

A blockquote with author and role, bordered or centered.

Media

Image

A lazy-loaded WebP <picture>, resized to at most 1600 px. Aspect ratio, Image fit and Focal point control cropping. To link an image, wrap it in an Anchor.

Gallery

Up to 24 images with title/alt text and description, as simple thumbnails, title overlays or cards. Thumbnails open in the bundled lightbox.

Video

A YouTube or Vimeo URL renders as a click-to-load facade that contacts the provider only after a click. A media file renders as a native <video>.

Download

One download box per file, with a type icon, title and file size.

PDF

An inline pdf.js viewer, loaded only on pages with a PDF block. Without JavaScript it shows a download card. A file that is not a PDF still renders the download card, marked as an unsupported file type.

Map

An OpenStreetMap map with markers, added by hand or from a CSV file (latitude, longitude, popup text). Tiles are served through the plugin's caching proxy, so visitors never contact openstreetmap.org. Under Settings → Content → Content Editor → Performance → Map tiles you set the cache limit (default 1 GB, 0 = unlimited) and can restrict tiles to a region; uncached or out-of-region tiles render blank.

Slider

A Splide carousel of Slide blocks, 1–4 per view. With card style it becomes a card slider. Autoplaying sliders get a play/pause button.

One slider panel. With an image, its child blocks become a caption overlay.

Components

Button

A link styled as a Bootstrap button, with an optional Lucide icon. Picked CMS pages and Tailor entries are stored as october:// references and resolve to the active site's URL.

Anchor (link wrapper)

A container that wraps its children in one <a>, with target and rel toggles. Only relative paths, anchors, http(s), mailto and tel are allowed; a new tab always adds noopener.

Accordion

A container of Accordion Items, in default or FAQ style. Collapsing uses Bootstrap's script from renick-content.js.

Accordion Item

One collapsible panel with a title, optional icon and heading level; it holds any blocks.

Card

A Bootstrap card container, image on top or as cover background. A link URL makes the whole card clickable.

Call to Action

Five designs: hero, hero split, panel, minimal and bookmark, with up to two buttons.

Testimonials

Customer quotes with author, avatar and a 1–5 star rating, as cards or plain.

Info Banner

A neutral, success, warning or danger callout with optional attention animations that respect prefers-reduced-motion.

Timeline

A vertical timeline of Timeline Items, on the left or alternating sides.

Timeline Item

One station with title, date/label and an optional marker icon; its children are the content.

Form

A container that turns its Form Fields into a working form, protected by a honeypot, a minimum fill time and a per-IP rate limit. Submissions go to the Contact form recipient under Settings → Content → Content Editor → Forms; there you can also switch submissions off or add the Local captcha, an arithmetic question with no external service.

Form Field

One input: text, email, phone, number, URL, date, time, password, hidden, text area, select, checkbox or switch. A Privacy consent field keeps the submit button disabled until checked.

Shared Content

Embeds a Shared Content piece; editing the piece updates every page.

Entry List

Published entries of a Tailor blueprint as card grid, image grid or list, with items per row per breakpoint (col-* to col-xxl-*), a fixed number, pagination or endless loading. Each entry links to the CMS page whose [section] component shows the blueprint; without one, entries stay unlinked. Restyle with partials/renick-content/tailor-list.htm or the --rc-entries-* custom properties.

Submission Form

Renders a Tailor submission blueprint (October CMS 4.4+) as a frontend form; enable it under Settings → Content → Submission Forms. Pick and relabel fields; mandatory fields are always included, and uploads are stored privately. Validation, moderation and notifications stay with the blueprint, see details.

Mall Products

Hand-picked OFFLINE.Mall products with thumbnail, name, price and link, as card grid, single cards or list. Enable under Settings → Content → Mall Integration, see details.

Mall Category

The products of a category, with sort order and limit. It reads Mall's product index, so run php artisan mall:index after seeding or importing products.

Section

A container for grouping blocks, with background image and colors.

Grid

A Bootstrap row that accepts only Column blocks.

Column

A grid cell, 1–12 twelfths or Auto. Columns stack on phones.

Card Grid

A Grid in card design; Columns can be dragged between Grid and Card Grid.

Utility

Spacer

Vertical whitespace in five sizes.

Code

Display shows escaped code with a language badge. Execute inserts the code into the page unchanged, so grant it only to editors you trust with raw markup.

Placeholder

An empty slot carrying its block id as data-rc-placeholder, filled by a plugin via renick.content.beforeRenderBlock or by Custom Scripts.
