AI Assistance

Renick.Content can translate documents, draft pages from a brief, research the web and generate images. Everything stays off until an administrator picks a provider (OpenAI, OpenRouter, or Mock for testing) under Settings → Content → AI Integration. Editors need the Use AI features permission. The REST API switch and legacy token live under API Tokens, see REST API.

Choosing a provider pre-fills its default models: GPT-5.6 Terra (gpt-5.6-terra, on OpenRouter openai/gpt-5.6-terra) for translating and drafting, and gpt-image-2 (OpenAI) or google/gemini-3.1-flash-image (OpenRouter) for images. Models you entered yourself stay as they are, and an empty field uses the default. If the provider times out, cannot be reached or is overloaded, the editor explains it in plain words; the technical detail goes to the system log. Once an API key is saved, the model fields suggest the provider's models as you type, on OpenRouter with price and context length. Any other model id can still be entered.

The Monthly token budget is a hard limit: once it is reached, translate, draft and script requests are refused until next month. Image generation does not count.

Text results never apply silently. A confirmation dialog shows how many blocks would be added, removed or changed, and nothing changes until you click Apply to editor. On a saved record, every generated result is also stored in the version history as ai_translate or ai_draft, applied or not.

The AI menu in the editor

Translate…

Translates text values only, in every text field of plugin and theme blocks, repeater items included. Structure, ids, URLs, selections and non-translatable fields stay untouched. Links to pages of the site, such as /contact, are stored as page references in drafts and translations, so they open that page on whichever site shows the content. Drafts link only to pages that exist on the site: the AI gets the site's page list, a near miss such as /book-appointment is pointed at the closest page (/appointment), and a link to a page that does not exist is removed. A translation keeps such a link. The confirmation lists every link it changed or flagged. Pick a language chip or type a code such as pt-BR. The whole document keeps one form of address: it follows the source, and sources without one (such as English) become formal, e.g. German Sie or French vous.

Draft from brief…

Describe the page and pick a scope: a section, a small page or a large page. You can start from an Inspiration preset or attach a .docx, .txt or .md template document (max. 10 MB) whose headings and texts the draft follows. Once applied, the draft replaces the current content. The copy is written in the language of the site you are editing. In a blog post or another field marked draftContext: article, the page already shows the title and cover, so the draft uses headings, text, images and similar blocks instead of a hero or full-width sections; a hero the AI still returns becomes a heading and a paragraph.

External image URLs in the AI output are removed because their copyright is unknown. Tick Allow external image URLs to keep them for one draft.

Research & draft…

Like drafting, plus a research topic: the AI first gathers web sources through Firecrawl. The action appears only when Allow outbound research requests is on and a Firecrawl key is set.

Generate an image

With the OpenAI or OpenRouter provider, single image fields get a Generate button. Describe the image, add style chips, then Apply or Regenerate. Upscale (OpenAI only) doubles the resolution, up to 3840 px on the long edge with gpt-image-2 (older image models stop at 1536 px). The Images settings tab decides whether images are stored as files or in a media library folder. With OpenAI, Image quality trades detail for speed and cost; Auto leaves the choice to OpenAI.
